This error occurs because the Borland Database Engine is looking for updated language drivers. They should have automatically installed into the appropriate folders, but under some conditions will not. You can try the following:
- Download btl.exe to your computer.
- Copy the downloaded file to C: / Program Files / Borland / Common Files / BDE.
- Double-click btl.exe to extract six files: bantam.dll, charset.cvb, europe.btl, ceeurope.btl,
other.btl, and usa.btl) into that same folder.
- Try running the Knitware program again (do not uninstall/re-install). If you still get error
$3E06, you may need to copy the btl files into the Knitware folder as well, so follow steps 5 & 6 below.
- Copy btl.exe to C:/Program Files/Knitware/xxxx (where xxxx is the Knitware program and
version name - for example Sweaters 2.50 - or wherever you installed the Knitware program to if you did not use the defaults).
- Double-click btl.exe to extract its six files into that same Knitware folder.
- Try running the Knitware program again (do not uninstall/re-instal). If the BDE error
$3E06 still recurs, contact supportATgreatknitdesignsDOTcom for other options.
