RIGHT SHOULDER SEAM:

  1. Use backstitch to sew front to back along right
    shoulder seam.

NECKBAND: by hand on size 2.75 mm needles.

  1. With right side of work facing, pick up and knit 4
sts from left front neck edge, 6 sts from front
neck holder, 4 sts from right front neck edge,
and 10 sts from back neck holder. Total 24 sts.
  2. Knit 0.2 ins (2 rows) in K1P1 ribbing.
  3. Cast off loosely in ribbing.
LEFT SHOULDER SEAM: as for right shoulder seam.

ARMHOLE RIBBING: by hand on size 2.75 mm needles.

  1. With right side of work facing, pick up and knit 22 sts along armhole edge between side seams by
picking up one st for every armhole cast-off st and one for every row.
  2. Inc to 23 sts.
  3. Work in K1P1 ribbing for 0.2 ins (approx 2 rows). Cast off loosely in ribbing.

FINISHING:

  1. DRESS CORD. Make a cord approx 11.0 ins long for the waist. Some suggestions are: crochet
chain st, braids, I-cord. A contrast colour might look good here.
  2. Sew side seams using invisible seam. Use backstitch to sew remaining seams. Sew in all loose
    ends.

NOTES:
These little dresses are so quick and easy to make. Everyone's Barbie should have one. Use a metallic
thread and ankle length for an evening dress, or cotton and mini length without the ruffle for a beach
dress. Endless possibilities....

Great for using up odd balls of yarn, because they need so little.
