KNITWARE BASICS Styles
(for pets, dolls, bears, and people)
BASICS became famous as the "Critters" program when it offered the Dog Sweater style.
With the Dog Sweater, you can design sweaters for many pets; including dogs, cats,
hamsters, ferrets etc., as well as 'naturally shaped' stuffed animals which stand with all
four feet on the floor

BASICS also allows you to design garments for virtually any doll (Barbie™, American
Girl™, Cabbage Patch™, and Troll™, among others) or stuffed animal (the program has
"dressed" a myriad of teddy bears, plus a raccoon, an elephant, a dog, and a lion); from
the very small (such as, 4-inch Trolls) to the very large (such as, a very chubby 34"
chest teddy bear).

Garments for dolls and teddy bears include a basic round-neck (crew) pullover, a basic
knit skirt, and knit pants. In 2005, "people" sizes from infant to adult were added to the
program for these garments. [NOTE: For a larger variety of styles of sweaters and skirts,
you should look at the
SWEATERS or the SKIRTS & SHAWLS programs.]
BASICS provides "standard" size data for:

  • many common pure-breed dogs
  • numerous standard  (commercial) dolls and bears
  • standard sizes for men, women, children, and babies

In addition, as with all Knitware programs, BASICS allows you to define custom sizing for any
    pet, doll, bear, or person.
