End of Support: Windows 95/98/ME and XP-SP1
On 7/11/2006 (11 July 2006), Microsoft announced an end of support for Windows
98 (all versions), Windows Millenium Edition (ME), and Windows XP
Service Pack 1 (SP1). A full explanation of this announcement can be found at
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/support/endofsupport.mspx.

In addition, older versions of Windows (such as, Windows 95) have already been
retired and are no longer supported by Windows. If you are running one of these
older versions of Windows, see
http://support.microsoft.com for relevant
information.

As a result of Microsoft's support positions, effective 9/1/2006 (1 September 2006),
all Knitware problems reported on these "retired" Windows systems will be given full
consideration. However, if an "easy" or obvious solution is not found, the problems
will be tested on newer, currently-supported versions of Windows such as Windows
XP (SP2 and higher), Windows 2000, and so on. If the reported problems cannot be
reproduced on the new systems, we will not devote further time to the solution or
support of those problems.

If you are running older versions of Windows, and hope to upgrade to newer
versions of Knitware as they become available, I encourage you to consider
upgrading your computer system. See
here for upgrade recommendations.
