For Windows XP systems only:
Running from the product CD, or after downloading and extracting the program
files, setup.exe will not execute. Double-clicking on the file name does nothing.
You are unable to begin the installation of the product.
This may be caused by a number of reasons, so consider the following:
- Make sure that you are connected to your operating system as a user with
administrator privileges.
- You may need to need to temporarily disable your virus/security software
to run the setup.exe file.
- There may be a slight incompatibility between the Knitware program and
your XP system, especially if it is a newer system. This may be corrected
by downloading this file and installing it on your system. Additional
information on this problem can be found here. NOTE: This download is
part of an advanced troubleshooting procedure. If you are not
comfortable with advanced troubleshooting procedures, we
recommend you consult someone who is before going further.
